Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve an effective circuit for the reception of n-phase PSK or FM waves without carrier waves, by subtracting a detection component of noise from a control voltage of an amplifier and rejecting noise component, in the automatic control of the gain of a receiver for radio communication. CONSTITUTION:A signal level of an input signal 1 is fluctuated due to the state of transmission lines and an output 2 which is regulated within the range of a minute control error by an automatic gain control amplifier 3 is obtained. The output of the amplifier 3 is inputted to a detector 5 for signal level detection and a detector 6 for noise level detection having a detected frequency region different from that of the detector 5. That is, a region B where almost no signal component is present and only noise component is given like a n-phase PSK (phase shift keying) wave, is in existence and the detector 6 is set to the region B like this. A subtraction circuit 7 subtracts the output of detectors 5, 6 and a control voltage output is produced. Thus, the automatic gain control circuit of a virtual synchronizing system can be constituted with low cost.
