Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform excellent broadcast reception by AM-detecting an FMIF signal after AGC amplification, by detecting and eliminating echo distortion, and by raising a received electric field according to the lowering of the electric field detected from an AGC control voltage. CONSTITUTION:If echo distortion is generated owing to multipath reception, an AM component is brought to mix in an IF signal from front end 2. Then, the IF signal is AGC-amplified by IF amplifier 8 to constant amplitude; and AM detector 10 detects its full-wave signal component and AM detector 12 detects its half-wave component. Then, high-cut control circuit 16 and high-cut filter 17 eliminate noise components included in the high frequency range of the FM detection output. So that fluctuations of the output voltage of amplifier 8 will be suppressed, AGC voltage VC decreasing according to the lowering of the signal level is generated and then phase-inverted 14 to output electric-field decrease signal e2 which rises according to the lowering of the electric field. Thus, the noise component is eliminated to perform excellent broadcast reception.
