Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous detection of multi-path distortion, by tanking a signal in audible frequency band for a signal in FM detection of a stereo FM signal as a reference and detecting the level difference with a signal summing each of stereo audio signals separated left and right. CONSTITUTION:When a multi-path reception takes place, a continuous pulse component is caused in an FM detection signal E0. An LPF 13 picks up a (L+R) signal in 15kHz or less from the FM detection signal E0 including this pulse component. On the other hand, a stereo demodulation circuit 7 samples an FM detection signal E0 in the timing shown in thick lines from the FM detection signal E0 including the continuous pulse component to obtain L, R signals. But, an L' signal different from the correct L signal is outputted. Thus, synthesis is made at an adder 14 and (L'+R) signal in 15kHz or less is picked up at an LPF 15. A differential amplifier 16 outputs a differential signal as (L'+L), and an AM detector 17 outputs a DC voltage according to the differential signal as a distortion detecting signal.
