Abstract
PURPOSE:To uniformalize the cooling of bearing of the like by a constitution wherein a plurality of heat absoring parts of heat pipes are inserted in the cylindrical bearing housing of bearing of machine tool or the like and the outer ends of the heat pipes are connected to a cooling unit through a header. CONSTITUTION:The heat of friction produced between a rotary shaft 1 and the bearing 2 is transfered through end covers 4, the bearing housing 3 to the heat pipes 6 to put the heat pipes in action by heating and evaporating the working liquid in the heat pipe 6. The evaporated working liquid is collected to the header 7 and sent, through a steam pipe 9, to the cooling unit 8 to be cooled and condensed therein and flowed, through a pipe 10, back to the heat pipe 6 from the header 7. Owing to the constitution as described above, the bearing can be cooled efficiently and uniformly.
