Abstract
PURPOSE: To make easier the control on the position of a treatment machine for soft ground by eliminating the effect of the movement of a base ship affected by tidal wave, wind, etc., by providing a self-walking device to the treatment machine by separating the treatment machine of the working ship from the base ship.
CONSTITUTION: A treatment machine 1, a guide 9 for elevating the treatment machine, and a float tank 10 are concurrently fixed to a lifting tank 2 by a hook 2 for lifting the treatment machine and moved to a working sea area. They are demounted in the working sea area and floated inside a well 21, and the tank 10 is vertically moved by a rack 14 for elevating the tank and an elevator 15 and then the position of the tank 10 is adjusted to a place where the leg 16 of a self-walking device can reach the sea bed. The position of the treatment machine 1 is primarily determined by a winch 11 and finally determined by walking devices 16, 17, and 18. After determining the position, the treatment machine 1 is penetrated into the sea bed along the guide 9 by means of the rack 12 and the elevator 13, whereupon the tank 10 is floated but its position is adjusted by the rack 14 and the elevator 15. After the completion of penetration, the treatment machine 1 is pulled up by utilizing the buoyancy of the tank 10 by means of the rack 12 and the elevator 13.
