Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the driving efficiency by a method wherein a closed Brayton cycle, in which working fluid can be heated up to high temperature, is employed as the driving source of a refrigerant compressor.
CONSTITUTION: With the start of the running of displacement type compressor 1, the working fluid is compressed and discharged from a port 19 and then heated up to high temperature with a heater 2. After that, said high temperature high pressure working fluid is introduced from a port 20 to a displacement type expander 4 to rotate and drive the expander by lowering its temperature and pressure. Said working fluid decreased in temperature and pressure in cooled with a radiator 5 and, after that, sent back to the displacement type compressor 1 to repeat the recirculation. According to Brayton cycle as described above, the output of the displacement type expander 4 is transmitted through rotary shafts 12a and 12b to drive the displacement type compressor 1 and the displacement type refrigerant compressor 8.
