Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the number of parts and to improve reliability by providing a switching means, turned on and off by an external signal, in parallel to part of a resistance constituting a voltage dividing circuit which obtains a reference voltage. CONSTITUTION:A thermistor TH1 as a temperature detector is connected in series to resistances R1 and R2 and a variable resistance VR1 and a power voltage Vcc is divided to supply a voltage Vv, which corresponds to a detected temperature, to the noninverted input terminal of a comparator 1. A voltage Vs obtained by dividing the power voltage Vcc by a voltage dividing circuit consisting of resistances R7-R9 is applied to the inverted input terminal of the comparator 1 as the reference voltage and then compared with a voltage Vv. The collector and emitter of a transistor TR1 are connected to both terminals of the resistance R7 and an extermal switching signal is applied to the base of a TR1, which then turns on and off. When the switching signal is at a low potential, the TR1 turns on to short-circuit the resistance R7, so that a reference voltage Vs-c is higher than a reference voltage Vs-d when the TR1 is off. Therefore, the temperature detection voltage is compared by one comparator with more than one reference voltages, the number of parts is small, and the reliability is improved.
