Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Each flat, cylindrical and grounded electrode tube 7 is set in a tank 1 having a cooling water path 4 and vacant chambers 5, 6 formed by dividing with partition plates 3a, 3b, and a flat cylindrical dielectric 8 provided with a high voltage electrode 9 at the inside is put in the tube 7 with spacers 21, 22 in-between to form a discharge gap 10. The electrode 9 is connected to a high AC voltage power source through a fuse 12 and a leading wire 11. By said supporting method the weight to the dielectric 8 and the movement in the horizontal direction are elastically supported by the tails of the lower spacers 22 and protrusions 24a, 24b, respectively, so the prescribed width of the discharge gap 10 is maintained at all times even if vibration, shock, etc. are applied.
