Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the life of the apparatus by employing multiemission radiation and specifying its frequency in the method of using emission radiation of a flash discharge lamp.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of fixing the toner in an electrostatic type recording apparatus through emission radiation of a flash discharge lamp, emission rediation is accomplished by multiemission radiation and its frequency is specified at 1.2W 3.5Hz. Then, if the energy necessary for fixing is let to be E, the emission energy per time to be 1/2CV2, and frequency to be f(Hz), then there is the relation of 1/2CV2=E/F. If f is made excessively large, the time for sufficient cooling of the discharging capacitor for the lighting device cannot be taken and conversely if f is made excessively small, the emission energy 1/2CV2 per time must be taken large, resulting in the shorter service life of the flash discharge lamp. By specifying f at 1.2W3.5Hz, sure fixing is accomplished without shortening the service life of the flash discharge lamp and its lighting circuit.
