Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate ozone efficiently and economically by uniformalizing the discharge gap between the concentric electrode and the high voltage electrode of a silent discharge type ozonizer by a simple structure.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode tube 1 is concentrically set at the outside of the high voltage electrode tube 2 of a both-side cooling system ozonizer with a prescribed discharge gap in-between. A spacer 11 made of metal or ozone resistant insulator is inserted in a spiral groove cut in the inside of the tube 1. Thus, the discharge gap 4 is formed. When the the spacer 11 is spirally placed in the gap from one end to the other end, gaseous starting material whirlingly flows along the spacer 11 in the arrow direction and is exhausted. Accordingly, the distribution of gaseous starting material can be made uniform.
