Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the formation of a star mark on a zinc electroplated steel plate to the utmost during press forming by regulating the plated surface of the steel plate contacting with a punch surface to a prescribed value or above of surface roughness.
CONSTITUTION: A steel plate electroplated with zinc on one side or both sides is regulated to ≥1.5μm, rmS surface roughness by a method such as cold working with a rolling roll having a surface roughened by electric spark machining. The occurrence of a defect called a star mark is inhibited on the steel plate having the regulated surface roughness at the surface contacting with a punch during press working. Accordingly, the regulated surface roughness is very effective in enhancing the yield of products and the productivity.
