CONSTITUTION:To a hydrophilic colloid layer, especially the silver halide emulsion layer or the intermediate layer of a photographic sensitive silver halide material are added >=1 kind of polyol selected from di- and trihydric alcohols or ether glycols, etc. represented by formulaeI, II (where each Z is optionally substituted 1-10C alkylene, 2-10C alkenylene or 2-10C alkynylene; each of R1 and R2 is H or lower alkyl; n<1> is 2-4; and n<2> is 2-5), and an alkali metallic nitrate such as KNO3 or NaNO3.
