Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of element in a circuit as well as to eliminate variation of performance among cylinders by controlling the ignition timing and continuity time by means of a single electronic circuit. CONSTITUTION:Each output of signal generators 1 to 3 is amplified by inversion amplification circuits 19 and 21 and thyristors 29 to 31 are turned on by this output. A continuity start signal is obtained by the positive pulses of the signal generators 1 to 3 and an ignition signal is obtained by their negative pulses. These signals are supplied to an ignition position/continuity time control circuit 28 so as to control a transistor 32. One of the thyristors 29 to 31 and the said Tr32 are turned ON in order to apply a current to the primary side of ignition coils 33 to 35. Then the Tr32 is turned OFF, and high voltage is generated on the secondary side of the coils 33 to 35, so that a spark may be scattered to the appropriate one of the spark plugs 36 to 38. Besides, ignition operation is performed by repeatedly turning ON the thyristor of a subsequent cylinder and the Tr32.
