Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain good mixing of fuel and air by permitting the fuel to jet against a wall, where the spray width shall be spread in the vertical direction, and come in contact afterward with a swirling flow.
CONSTITUTION: A protrusion 3 is formed in the middle of a concave 2 excavated at the top of a piston 1 and is provided with wall faces 4 which are approx. perpendicular to a swiring flow.
