Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the suspension stability of an aqueous slurry of zeolite, by adding a metal salt such salt of as Al, Ti, etc. to a zeolite slurry having specific zeta potential, thereby forming positively charged colloid particles by hydrolysis.
CONSTITUTION: The zeta potential of zeolite particle at 25°C at a slurry concentration of 300mg/l is adjusted to -42W0mv, and the slurry is mixed with one or more Al compounds, Ti compounds or Zr compounds. The additive is hydrolyzed with water to form positively charged colloid particles, which neutralize the negative charge of the zeolite particles to attain high suspension stability.
