Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable generation of swirls through a simple construction, by arranging the first inflow opening of a sub-intake passage to bypass a throttle valve and communicate with the atmosphere and installing a plurality of second inflow openings so as to be opened/closed by the throttle valve.
CONSTITUTION: A bus-intake passage 22 having an effective opening area smaller than that of a main intake passage 5 is provided with an injection nozzle pipe 22a pressed into a cylinder head 2, a passage 22b formed in an intake manifold 7 and a passage 22C formed on the main body 8a of a carburettor 8. The passage 22c is arranged to communicate with a first inflow opening 22d and a second inflow opening 22e opening within a primary side ventilating passage 8b of the carburettor 8. A second inflow opening 22e being composed of a plurality of openings 22e1, 22e2, is kept closed by a throttle valve 8d in idling, while the first inflow opening 22d is arranged to bypass the throttle valve 8d to communicate with the atomosphere, and only the first inflow opening 22d is opened in the idling.
