Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the electrospark machining of an arbitrary configuration by providing on the entire surface of an electrode magnetic poles applying magnetic fields locally on working gaps to form the length of gaps necessary for forming the work to a desired configuration. CONSTITUTION:Within a cavity formed in an electrode 1 there is provided a magnetic core, which is divided into a plurality of magnetic poles 31, 32...3n. Magnetic pole coils 41, 42...4n are wound around respective magnetic poles, and an exciting current is supplied from a power source 6 to respective coils through current adjusting resistors 51, 52...5n. When the electrosparking is performed by applying a working pulse from a pulse power source 7 between the electrode 1 and the work 2 the length of the working gap increase in correspondence to the intensity of the applied magnetic field, and the working of the work into an arbitrary configuration different from the configuration of the electrode becomes possible.
