Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in energy conversion efficiency and the improvement of space efficiency by providing at least two coils in the step motor whose stators have end faces of semicircular shape and assume magnetic poles opposing to a rotor. CONSTITUTION:Two coils 19, 20 which are excited by the driving pulse currents applied from the circuit including a time standard source have magnetic cores 17, 18 composed of high magnetic permeability material at their centers. The magnetic cores 17, 18 and stators 21, 22 form the magnetic path for leading the magnetic fluxes generated in the coils 19, 20. End faces 21a, 22a of nearly semicircular shape opposing in the circumferential direction to a rotor 16 constitute a pair of magnetic poles by the magnetic fluxes generated from the coils 19, 20. Electromagnetically parallel constitution of the two coils 19, 20 makes possible the length twice that of ordinary ones as the coil winding length and this makes coil winding efficiency excellent and makes possible to motor of higher output torque and lower current consumption.
