Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the increase of winding portion in a capacitor-start motor even if the number of poles is increased in the motor by forming the same number of poles as the number of polarities of the motor by a main and auxiliary windings each having two windings. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slots 7a-7b, 8a-8d are formed at the stator iron core 6 of a capacitor-start motor. The first main winding 10 is arranged in zigzag manner in the slots 7a, 7b, 7c and 7d and back to the slot 7a. The second main winding 11 is arranged symmetrically in zigzag manner to the first main winding 10 in the slots 7d, 7c, 7b and 7a and back to the slot 7a. When currents are flown in the direction as designated by an arrow through the first and second windings 10, 11, the currents will flow in the same direction through the windings in the same slot and in opposite direction through the windings in adjacent slots. Accordingly, a pole is formed at the portion interposed between the slots. First and second auxiliary windings 13, 14 are similarly arranged in the slots 8a-8d, and currents are flown in the direction as designated by an arrow to thereby form a necessary field.
