CONSTITUTION:A numeric controller capable of using (n) units of tools is provded with units 1-(n) each controlling the life of a corresponding tool. The number and life time of a tool to be used are set in a register 6 through an input equipment 4. In automatic operation, e.g. when the 1st tool is being selected, a control signal 10 goes up to a level High, and a clock 11 is inputted to an integrating time meter 8 through a gate 9. Its integrated time corresponds to the use time of the tool, and is compared with the life time of the register 6 by a comparator 7. When the use time exceeds the life time, a signal 12 is outputted to give warning.
