Abstract
PURPOSE: A granular polyolefin material with high bulk specific gravity and good fluidity directly moldable and giving a homogeneous molded product, which is prepd. by providing a layer consisting of a compounding agent and a binder on the surface of a granular polyolefin.
CONSTITUTION: A layer consisting of a compounding agent and a binder is provided on the surface of a granular polyolefin of bulk specific gravity ≥0.45 and average particle size 150W2,000μ. One or more finders may be used. A binder of m.p. at least 3°C lower than that of the granular polyolefin is pref. in view of the preparation and molding of the material, so that it is advisable to select the binder in consideration of m.p. of the granular polyolefin. Bulk specific gravity of the granular polyolefin <0.45 is undesirable, because it is impossible to effect sufficient deaeration during molding because of too much clearance within and between the granules. The granular polyolefin of too small a particle size is undesirable because of easy, flyability, while the one of too large a particle size is also undesirable because of poor dispersion of the compounding agent.
