Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a welding wire with good weldability and mechanical characteristics as well, by specifying a compounding ratio among metallic fluorides, metallic carbonates and metallic oxides. CONSTITUTION:A compound wire contains slag forming agents and metallic powders in the outer shell made of a metal. The slag forming agents are composed of at least metallic fluorides, metallic carbonates and metallic oxides. The content of metallic carbonates is controlled to 1/3-1/15 based on metallic fluorides and the content of metallic oxides is also controlled to 1/3-1/20 based on metallic fluorides. All slag forming agents are controlled to 1-10% based on the total weight of welding wires. The metallic powder to be packed in the metallic shell consists of >=1 kinds of deoxidizing element, metallic alloy element and iron powder, and is controlled to <=35% based on the total weight of the welding wires. Contents of Si and Mn in either or both of the flux and shell material are desirable to be in the range of 0.2-1.2%, 0.8-2.5% respectively based on the total weight of the welding wires.
