Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate connection, to shorten required time for the connection, and to reduced the size of structure, by providing an airtight sealing part to a connection performing part between a main cable and submarine optical tail cable. CONSTITUTION:The nylon cover buffer layer of part of on optical core 1a in a metallic pipe 8 is removed to expose a fiber wire 1b, and an airtight sealing part is formed in the metallic pipe 8 through a stuck part 9 stuck with an adhesive. To improve the airtightness of the metallic pipe constituting the airgith sealing part of a connection performing part between this submarine optical tail cable and a main cable, the connection part between a cable branch body 7 and the metallic pipe 8 is provided with a soldersealing part 11. Consequently, it is unnecessary to provide a special pressure-tight protective part, and while the connection characteristics of the optical tail cable are improved, easy connection and short connection time are realized.
