Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure creatinine in a short time, by catalytically contact with BrO- produced by the electrolytic oxidation with NH3 produced by the enzymatic reaction of creatinine. CONSTITUTION:A liquid to be measured containing creatinine is entered a fixation enzyme 2 from an inlet: opening 1b through a sampling valve 1. Creatinine is hydrolyzed and NH3 is produced by the action of creatinine diminase enzyme while passing said liquid through this enzyme 2. Said NH3 is entered to the second room 4b from the first room 4a of a flow cell 4 permeating a high molecular membrane 4. On the one hand, an electrolyte containing Br<-> supplied from a receptacle for the electrolyte 8 and buffer solution about pH 8.5pH, is electrolytically oxidized in a reagent generation apparatus 7 and BrO<-> is produced. Produced BrO<-> is entered the room 4b in the cell 4 and is catalytically reacted with NH3. The concentration of BrO<-> before and after the reaction is determined by polarography and the concentration of creatinine in the liquid to be measured is displayed on an indicator 6.
