Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure an amino compound, by reacting BrO<-> produced by electrolytic oxidation with NH3 produced by the reaction of an enzyme and the amino compound and polarographically detecting the concentration of BrO<-> before and after the reaction. CONSTITUTION:A liquid to be measured is introduced from an inflow opening 1b and is passed through an enzyme to be fixed 2 by a carrier fluid introducing from an inflow opening 1a accompanied by driving of a sampling valve 1 and then, NH3 is produced from an amino compound in the liquid to be measured. This liquid to be measured containing gaseous NH3 is reached the first room 4a of a flow cell 4 and the gaseous NH3 is sent to the second room 4b through a high mol wt. material membrane 4c. On the one hand, an electrolyte supplying from a receptacle for the electrolyte 8 and containing Br<-> and a buffer solution of about 8.5pH, is electrolytically oxidized in a reagent producing apparatus 7 and BrO<-> is produced and sent to the second room 2b of the cell 4. NH3 and BrO<-> are reacted in the room 2b and the concentration of BrO<-> is detected by electrodes 4d, 4e, 4f, supplied a constant voltage from a potentiostat 5.
