Abstract

PURPOSE:To accrately measure urea concentration by acting urease-enzyme to the urea-contg. solution to be measured and allowing the resulting NH3 to contact and react with the solution contg. BrO<->, then detecting the change of BrO<-> concentration by polarography. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of the solution to be measured is introduced from an inlet opening 1a of a sampling valve 1, and reacted with urease-enzyme 2 to produce NH3. After that, the reaction product is introduced to a flow cell 4 to transmit NH3 alone through a high polymer membrane 4c. On the other hand, an electrolytic solution contg. Br<-> is supplied from a container 8 for electrolytic solution to a reagent producing apparatus 7, and there BrO<-> is produced by electrolytic oxidation.
