Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure activity of an enzyme, by a method wherein a lactic acid is prepared in the presence of an enzyme to be measured, and the lactic acid is detected by an enzyme electrode in which a glycolic acid oxidase is fixed. CONSTITUTION:A 3-way valve 4 is mounted at a buffer liquid flow path 3 ranging from a buffer liquid tank 1 to a waste liquid tank 2, and one side of the 3- way valve 4 is coupled to a sample tank 5 in which a sample to be measured is stored. An enzyme electrode 6, in which a glycolic acid oxidase enzyme is fixed as a reaction catalyst and a porous high-molecular film is formed, and a micropump 7 are installed at the downstream side of the 3-way valve 4. The reduction in oxygen concentration is detected as a change in current by the enzyme electrode 6, and the signal is sent to a diffenrentiator 9. A differential value, obtained from the differentiator 9, represents an enzyme activity and is recorded in a recorder 10.
