Abstract
PURPOSE:To determine lactic acids by using an enzyme electrode contg. an immobilized enzyme membrane immobilized with lactic acid oxidase as a reaction catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An enzyme electrode 6 contains a housing 61, and holes through which a buffer flow passage 3 can penetrate are formed to the housing 61. An immobilized enzyme membrane 66 is also provided thereto. This membrane 66 contains a porous high polymer thin film 661 consisting of, for example, acetylcellulose or the like, and lactic acid oxidase as a reaction catalyst is immobilized in this thin film 661. One of surface sides of the film 661 is coated with a porous film 662 of polycarbonate or the like and the other surface side is coated with a permeable film 663 of a fluororesin or polyethylene permitting the permeation of only the enzyme that is measured by a working electrode 63 and a reference electrode 64. The conc. of lactic acid is determined by detecting the electric current between the electrodes changing in accordance with enzyme reaction.
