Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled heavy oil of good quality, capable of giving a hydrating ratio always stabilized without influence of atmospheric temperature, and having a stabilized combustion state, by heating heavy oil and water separately before entering an emulsifier, and feeding both kept at a specific temperature into the emulsifier.
CONSTITUTION: A heavy oil from a service tank 1 is passed through an oil transporting pipe 2 by the suction with a pump 7, heated by a heater 5, set at a desired flow rate by a flow rate regulator 6 and fed into an emulsifier body 14. On the other hand, water fed from a water supply pipe 8 is passed through a pressure regulator, set at a pressure of 0.6W1.2kg/cm2, heated by a heater 11, adjusted and set at a desired mixing ratio to the heavy oil by a flow rate regulator 12 and joined to the oil transporting pipe 2 at a joining point 13. The resultant mixture of the heavy oil with water is then fed into the emulsifier body 14 to divide water finely, uniformly diffuse into the oil and give the aimed emulsion of the heavy oil. The joining and contact temperature of the water with the heavy oil is set at 40W70°C.
