Abstract
PURPOSE:To transmit a binary signal faithful to the original, by making the speed of reset of a slice level at the point for change from black to white of the picture signal higher than the speed of drop of the slice level at the point for change from white to black in the picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A slice level determining circuit 19 consists of a clamp circuit 17, which consists of resistances R1-R4, a capacitor C2, a charging diode D1, a discharging diode D2, and a diode D3 for input of a set value, and an integrator 18. A picture signal L1 and a slice level signal L2 are inputted to a comparator 8 to discriminate white or black. If R2/R1=R4/R3 is trure when resistances R1 and R2 have resistance values very larger than those of R3 and R4, a current I1 flowed to the diode D1 is larger than a current I2 flowed to the diode D2, and the time constant is larger. Thus, the speed of charging of the capacitor C2 is higher than the speed of discharging sufficiently, and the reset of the slice level is rapider.
