Abstract
PURPOSE:To completely isolate a slice level voltage from the effect of the variation of input signal level by obtaining the slice level voltage through passing the input signals via a diode. CONSTITUTION:When a first peak signal Vp1 among input signals V1 is applied to the input terminal (-) of a comparator 6, the signal Vp1 is sent to a capacitor C through a diode D. Then, a slice level Vs which is smaller than the signal Vp1 by the voltage drop in the diode D is applied to the capacitor C and at the same time, the slice level Vs is applied also to the terminal (+) of the comparator 6. A second peak voltage Vp2 which is applied successively is smaller than the voltage Vs, therefore, the voltage Vs charged to the capacitor C is discharged gradually through a resistor R. Accordingly, the voltage Vs will not be smaller than the signal Vp2 when the time constant CR of the capacitor C and the resistor R is sufficiently large even if the signal Vp1 becomes lower than the level Vs.
