CONSTITUTION:According to the discrimination output of a character comparison part 2 which receives the output of a shift register part 1 wherein input data is held temporarily as a character sequence and discriminates whether three continuous characters at the beginning are the same or not, and the output of a counting part 4 which counts the frequency of the continuation of the same character or difference characters, the output of the shift register part 1 is classified by compression mode and noncompression mode and written in a memory part 5 successively. Therefore, the storage space and data transfer time of a storage device are reduced without spoiling the input speed of the input character sequence and the transparency of data.
