Abstract

PURPOSE: To bring a material to be heated close to the surface of a flame hole plate to improve the heat exchange efficiency by a method wherein oxidizing catalyst is carried on the flame hole plate itself of the burner of gas such as town gas or the like to red-heat the plate and the infrared ray radiated from the red-hot plate and the high temperature heat of the combustion gas are transfered to the material to be heated.
CONSTITUTION: Small holes 4, through which gas fuel passes, are perforated over a flame hole plate 3. Further, a backfire prevention plate 5, which prevents the backfire from spreading upstream, is arranged below the flame hole plate 3. When the ignition is tired, at first the flames are formed at the upper part of the passage holes 4 of the flame hole plate 3 and then, after one or two minutes, the combustion spreads to the surface carried with catalyst of the flame hole plate 3 and turns to be in the catalytic combustion state to generate the flameless combustion and to bring the flame hole plate 3 into red-hot state.
