Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize fuel consumption and achieve an energy conserving effect by a method controlling the flow rate of a fuel for heating in accordance with a quasi- optimum temperature rise pattern which is derived from a standard temperature rise pattern on the basis of the difference between a charge material and a standard material.
CONSTITUTION: The heating furnace controller is comprised of a heating furnace 1, the first calculator 2 which calculates the standard temperature rise pattern for minimizing the fuel consumption in the case of heating the standard material to a target taking-out temperature in a standard dwell time of the material in the heating furnace 1, the second calculator 3 and a flow rate controller 4. The calculator 3 calculate the quasi-optimum temperature rise pattern from the standard temperature rise pattern by correcting the standard pattern on the basis of the information of the size and steel grade of the charge material and the estimated dwell time of the material in the furnace. The flow rate controller 4 controls the flow rate of the fuel for the furnace 1 so as to fire the charge material in accordance with the quasi- optimum temperature rise pattern obtained by the calculator 3. Namely, when heating the charge material to the target taking-out temperature, a stable and efficient operation can be carried out by controlling the heating furnace with the temperature rise pattern in the furnace as a controlled variable.
