Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate the dropout to a playback video signal from a VTR and to correct the continuity of carrier phase of a chroma signal at speed change playback, by incorporating the dropout compensation circuit and the phase correction circuit for chroma signal. CONSTITUTION:Normally, when a switch 8 is switched to a filter 3, a delay circuit 5 and a subtraction circuit 14 form a comb type filter, and this comb type filter and a band pass filter 3 separate the chroma signal from a playback video signal at an input terminal 1 accurately. If any dropout takes place to this chroma signal, the switch 8 is selected to an inverter 7 side, and a signal delayed by one horizontal period is picked up from a subtraction circuit 14 and a applied to a phase correction circuit 16 and picked up at an output terminal 22 via a mixing circuit 20. If no dropout signal takes place, the input signal is outputted to an output terminal 22 from a switch 21.
