Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a duplex recorder wherein ink donor sheets are arranged at both sides of a recording paper feeding path to make it possible to have independent records on both sides of a sheet of recording paper by supplying specific energy to a thermal recording head provided at only one side of the path. CONSTITUTION:Ink donor sheets 12, 13 are provided for both sides of a feeding path 16 of a sheet of recording paper 15, and with the two ink donor sheets 12, 13 between, a recording head 11 is arranged at one side and an opposing roll 14 is arranged at the other side and arrangement is made so that the magnitudes of energy PA, PB necessary for causing ink to transfer from N0.1 and No.2 ink donor sheets 12, 13 to the recording paper 15 satisfy the relationship of a formula. As a method whereby the recording paper 15 is caused to record data only on the opposite side (side A) and not to record on this side (side B) by supplying energy of a certain value to the recording head 11, it is considered to use for the ink donor sheet 12 a kind of ink which is made unable to record by being sublimated at a temperature higher than a certain value (e.g. a combination of a basic colorless dye and bisphenol A added with a guanidine derivative as a color eraser).
