Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory used in a multicolored recorder using ink donor sheets by narrowing intervals between plural thermal heads which are to be arranged in a radial manner around a single back roll. CONSTITUTION:A p-color recording unit 1 and a g-color recording unit 2 are composed of ink donor sheets 12, 22, and thermal heads 13, 23, etc. respectively and they are arranged in a radial manner around a common back roll 4 at an interval of about 90 deg.. As a strip of ordinary paper 3 is fed in the direction of an arrow C, at first information is recorded by the p-color recording unit 1 and then image information of g-color is recorded by the g-color recording unit 2 so as to overlap the record of p-color and at this time the interval between the heat generating resistors of the thermal heads 13, 23 can be shortened since the single back roll 4 is used and due to this, the capacity of a memory for delaying image signals can be reduced and the possibility of causing poor registration of colors can also be eliminated.
