Abstract

PURPOSE:To heat the surface of the moving work with good energy efficiency to a desired temp. distribution by bisecting the ring-like distribution of parallel laser beams by a prism and superposing the pattenrs of high energy density parts. CONSTITUTION:Parallel laser beams 1 consisting of a ring-like high energy part 4 centering at a beam center 5 and a low energy density part 4a of the ring inside are refracted by a prism 2 of an isosceles triangle shape or the like in section. The beams 1 are bisected by the division line X-X which is the set of the vertexes 2a of the prism 2, and the respective beam parts are approached mutually in the direction perpendicular to the line X-X and are irradiated to the work 3. The work 3 is moved at a constant speed in the direction perpendicular to the line X-X. According to this heating method, the 2nd heating to the part of the work 3 passing near the beam center 5 does not occur, and the pass time of a heating source is reduced.
