Abstract
PURPOSE:To greatly improve the density of recording beam, by dividing a laser beam centering on the surface including the center axis of the beam to set the parts of intensive energy distribution at both sides and also to overlap the parts of weak energy distribution to each other and then forming a microspot. CONSTITUTION:The parallel laser beams 7 made incident to a prism 8 are divided into two parts centering on the ridgeline of the prism and refracted on prism faces 81-84 respectively. A circular beam of Gaussian distribution is symmetrical in terms of an axis X and converted into a laser beam 9 on an axis Y. The distribution of temperature obtained by condensing the beam 9 has the peak value of temperature at a position that is shifted onto the axis Y from the center of a microspot 15 by a certain distance and has a small width on the aixs Y passing through the center of the spot 15. On the other hand, when the sport 15 is shifted toward the axis X, the curve is compensated for the boundary between the different recording regions to ensure the recording with high density. In such constitution, the density of recording beam can be greatly improved.
