Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable optical high speed scanning and to make compact the head, by the constitution that magnetic transferring film is provided on the emission end of waveguide path incorporatedly and the photodeflector and the condenser lenses are provided on the same base.
CONSTITUTION: The light from a laser 3 in parallel light flux 5 with a thin film lens 4 is diffracted and deflected with an ultrasonic surface acoustic waves 7 excited with comb-shaped electrodes 6 provided at a part of waveguide path 2, and this deflected light flux 8 is collected with a thin film lens 9 to form a spot 14 at the emission end of a thin film waveguide path 2 or its vicinity. The emission end of the path 2 is set to a circular arc almost in coincidence with the locus of the light condensing point and the magnetic transferring film 10 and the protective film 12 are formed on the end, allowing the formed spot to be scanned on the magnetic transferring film 10 or its vicinity.
