Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a highly durably carrier with a low cost, by mixing and heating an inorganic glass material and magnetic matter particles to obtain an inorgnic glass fused matter into which the magnetic matter particles are diffused, cooling and forming the fused matter into blocks and then crashing the blocks. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic material is mixed with the magnetic matter particles, and the inorganic glass material is heated higher than the fusing point to obtain an inorganic glass fused matter into which the magnetic matter particles are diffused. This fused matter is cooled to obtain an inorganic glass block containing the diffused magnetic matter particles, and this glass block is crashed to obtain fine particle carriers. Such carrier for development of electrophotography contains magnetic matter particles 4 diffused evenly into a glass core material 5. As a result, a small piece of carrier material always contains the magnetic matter although the carrier is destructed by the mechanical friction or heat caused during the development. Thus a function of a magnetic carrier material is still maintained to virtually cause no characteristic change of a developer.
