Abstract

PURPOSE:To thicken dyeing degree and improve light polarization power by forming film using alcohol-water mixed solution of saponified product of ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer added with iodine or dichromatic dye. CONSTITUTION:Saponification product of ethylene-vinylacetate copolymer is dissolved in alcohol-water mixed solvent, and further iodine or dichromatic dye are added, a solution is prepared. Then, after film is formed from said solution, dyed film is obtained by contacting water. Dye film can be manufactured by stretching before contacting water, after contacting or at the same time as contacting. Film forming is done by applying said solution on the supporter of the endless belt etc. and dried at the range from the room temperature to 140 deg.C. Contact of obtained film with water may be performed by optional means of immersion, application, spray etc. and uniaxial stretch is suitable for stretching of polarization film.
