557,887. Dyeing textiles. ENGLISH VELVET & CORD DYERS' ASSOCIATION, Ltd., and HOLDEN, G. E. June 25, 1942, No. 8700. [Class 15 (ii)] Vat dyes, dyeing with. The affinity of fibres or fabrics for salts of esters of leuco vat dyes is improved by applying gelatine, isinglass or glue to the material, all-over or locally, and thereafter drying and heating. Pattern, including two-tone, effects, are obtainable by applying the gelatine or like protein to selected areas or by the use of an oxidising agent, such as Chloramine T, to remove or destroy the gelatine or like protein in selected areas. Specification 313,980, [Class 15 (ii)], is referred to.
