Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance utilization factor of the main transformer of a switching regulator by a method wherein the first primary winding of the main transformer being provided with a switching element in the input side is made to supply electric power only to a control circuit and the second primary winding is made to supply to both a load and the control circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a capacitor C1 is charged by an electric power source Ein through a resistor R1, a transistor Tr1 is ignited. The capacitor C1 is charged in the opposite direction by a base current IB, the transistor Tr1 is made to TURN-OFF, and by repetition of this action, the voltage of a capacitor C3 to act as an auxiliary electric power source is made to rise sufficiently. When the transistor Tr1 performs self-oscillation at this time, because a voltage of backward polarity is generated in the secondary winding N2 of the main transformer T1, no output is made to rise. When a transistor Tr2 is driven by a pulse duration control signal sent from an output detecting circuit 2 and a control circuit 1, the primary winding N12 is excited in the polarity according to ON-duty of the signal thereof to make an output voltage in the secondary winding N2 to rise.
