Abstract

1379192 Transistor switching circuits HUGHES AIRCRAFT CO 9 Feb 1973 [9 Feb 1972] 6532/73 Heading H3T [Also in Division H2] A switching transistor Q3 feeding an output transformer T3 is driven by an input transformer T2 having two primary winding connected together and respectively to on and off switching devices shown as transistors Q 1 and Q 2 , positive feedback being provided from the output to the connected ends of the primary windings by a transformer T 1 . The feedback varies the drive in accordance with the load current and thus increases the efficiency. R1 supplies initial turn-on power. The output may be used to charge the capacitance 66 of a pulse forming network during the "flyback" following switch off. The input may be pulsed at a fixed frequency or switch-off may be effected by a sensing circuit when a desired peak current is reached.
