Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain traveling-wave magnetic field by a single phase AC electric power source by a method wherein a single phase AC current is fed to single phase coils wound around magnetic poles provided at the primary side core during the period when an end part of the secondary side conductor is in the position to face with a magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:The first magnetic poles 2-1-2-3 are formed placing the prescribed interval in the primary side cores 1,1', and single phase coils 5-1, 5-1'-5-3, 5-3' are wound around the first magnetic poles 2-1-2-3 as to form loops of magnetic flux as shown with arrow marks. When the secondary side conductor plate 8 is traveling to the right direction and a sensor 9-1 is made to OFF after the sensors 9-1, 10-1 are made to ON by a tip 8-1 thereof, the single phase AC current is fed to the single phase coils 5-1, 5-1', and the secondary side conductor plate 8 is accelerated rapidly to the right side. When the sensors 9-1, 10-1 are made to OFF together, feeding of current to the single phase coils 5-1, 5-1' is stopped.
