Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease exciting power and obtain guide force for stable aligning by means of a guide function consisting of a field magnet for guide by utilizing magnetic repulsion by the field magnet for guide by a method wherein an electromagnetic rail is formed which is composed of armature coils containing cores and floating coils containing cores. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic rail 4 has armature cores 9 on which armature coils 8-1-8-4 are wound and floating coil cores 14 on which floating coils 15-1-15- 4 are wound. A field magnet 2 for propulsive floating with a field coil 10 and a field magnet 3 for guide with a field coil 12 are mounted to a moving body 1. The moving body is floated and propelled by a magnetic field of the field magnet 2 for propulsive floating and the magnetic fields of the armature coils and the floating coils. The field magnet 3 for guide generates repulsion in the electromagnetic rail width direction against the armature coil cores and the floating coil cores, and the moving body is guided by the rapulsion.
