Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a high efficiency semiconductor motor strarting with a maximum torque by a method wherein a first and second armature windings are energized by a single Hall element and a thrid and fourth are energized through two transistors constituting an FF circuit. CONSTITUTION:The armature windings 3 and 4 are energized and controlled by the transistors 9 and 10 that are turned on by location sensing signals from the Hall element 11 with a phase difference of 180 deg. and covering a 90 deg. range. The armature windings 1 and 2 are energized and controlled by transistors 7 and 8 constituting an FF that is switched off and on by a back electromotive force generated in the armatures 1 and 2. Diodes 20-23 are provided to avoid duplicate energization of the armature windings 1-4. The bases of transistors 7 and 8 are grounded and the transistors 7 and 8 are therefore turned off when the transistor 9 or 10 is turned on.
