Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce an ink image in accordance with the signal voltage on a recording surface by a method where in an ink transferring body is used as one electrode, and utilizing electrical infiltration of ink to a dielectric body in accordance with a signal voltage. CONSTITUTION:A negative high voltage signal, that is an ON voltage VB' is applied to an ink transfer body 300 forming a transfer electrode facing to a recording electrode 10. The liquid ink 200 is moved on an end surface of the dielectric body 10, and produces an ink adhesive 201 on an ink transfer body surface 301. When an OFF voltage VB' which is opposite polarity to that of VB and has the same maximum amplitude and pulse width as those of VB is applied, the ink 200 on the surface of the end 11 is caused to electrically infiltrate to the recording electrode 20, and the ink adhesion onto the ink transfer body surface 301 is stopped and prevented. When the ink transfer body 300 is rotated at a constant speed and in a pulse-like manner, the amount of adhesive ink onto the ink transfer body surface 301 is controlled. Accordingly, the ink adhesive 201 is transferred onto the surface of the recording sheet 600 to produce an ink transferred 202, and an ink image is reproduced and recorded in accordance with the signal voltage of an signal voltage source 700.
