Abstract

PURPOSE: To record at high speed on an ordinary paper a distinct and good quality image for the record of data communication, receipt, etc., by applying a recording signal voltage between the opposite surfaces of a stacked body of a specified ink sheet and a recording paper to cause the ink to be transferred onto the recording paper by the discharge destruction effect.
CONSTITUTION: The ink sheet 1 comprising a support 1a such as a polyester film or the like having a high electrical resistance, a conductive ink layer 1b containing carbon black, etc. situated on the support 1a and a surface layer thin film 1c of a polar polymer or the like having an electrical resistance lower than that of the support and the recording paper 2 are stacked with the recording paper 2 facing the surface layer thin film 1c. The recording electrode 3 is provided on the ink sheet 1 of the stacked body, and the opposite electrode 4 is provided on the recording paper 2 and pressed against the stacked body by a spring 5. Then a recording signal voltage is applied between the opposite surfaces of the stacked body to perforate the surface layer film 1c by the discharge destruction effect so that the ink in the conductive ink layer 1b is transferred through the perforated part to the recording paper 2 to provide a visible image. Thus, the fixing is not needed, and the electric power used is small.
